If I understand your question properly, you are asking whether a 3rd party creditor can sieze property you are still making payments on or otherwise interfere with your payments for that property (a car, in this case)? If that&#039;s correct, the answer is no. That 3rd party creditor would not have a superior lien on the property over the creditor to whom you are making your cay payments. Rather, if that 3rd party creditor obtained a judgment against you, that creditor would likely garnish your bank account, wages, or your Michigan state tax refund instead as a means of collecting the judgment.
