I am a Detroit, Michigan-area consumer bankruptcy attorney who works to protect the rights of the individual within our legal system. A graduate of the Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, I also have a Master’s degree in International & Comparative Law from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC. I practiced in Washington, DC for two years after completing my education before deciding to return home to the Detroit area.

Since returning to Michigan, I have exclusively assisted consumers and homeowners with their financial and real estate-related legal issues. Bankruptcy in particular is a specialty area that requires focus, intense study, and a dedicated practice, and I prefer to excel in specific practice area rather than dabbling in many.

However, I practice bankruptcy law not only because I believe that everyone deserves the same opportunities for justice and equal rights within our legal and financial system but also because I have experienced the same issues that even the most challenged of my clients are. I grew up on the near West side of Grand Rapids to a single-parent mother under serious hardship conditions, and helping people out of the trap of impossible debt is my mission.

Regardless of your background or your needs, I will treat you with the respect you deserve and the attention you require. Coming from a non-legal “first career” in business, additionally, customer service is my number one priority with any client. When you retain The Hilla Law Firm, PLLC, you are guaranteed access to your attorney when you need it and not a phone-maze or wall of paralegals.

I am a member in good standing of the Michigan Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
